The most important part of a beauty routine isn’t makeup, it’s skincare. Good skin is the perfect base for any look or style, and it’s easier to achieve than you think. If you’re familiar with my blog, you’ll know that a couple of months ago I wrote an article of the ten step Korean skincare routine that I had just started, but I’ve made a few changes since then. This will update you on how my skincare routine has evolved and give insight into the products I use.
Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm
I always start with an oil cleanser, especially when I’m removing makeup as it melts it all away. I love this one in particular as it is so effective and has a lovely texture. I use this morning and night, but if you’re not into oil cleansers, by all means skip this step.
Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap
This is my next step and I use it with their sonic brush. This is one of my favourite parts of my entire skincare routine, as it deeply cleanses the skin. I find I have less blemishes and that my skin is a lot smoother since using it, so I would highly recommend it.
Clinique Clarifying Lotion
I recently got this in a multipack and have only just started using it. This is basically a chemical exfoliator, so it removes dead skin slightly more gently than an abrasive one. However, it is quite strong so I would not recommend this for sensitive skin.
Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic
This is a toner that I have been using for years and I still haven’t found anything better than it. It’s different to most as it isn’t drying and does not strip the skin, instead it is more moisturising. If you only want to use one toner, then this is the one I would recommend.
Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence
This is a Korean product which is more hydrating than a regular toner. It works to make the skin more hydrated and it also reduces redness. Both these statements are true for me, so if you’re struggling with redness or dryness then this is the one for you.
Skinmiso Pore Corset Serum
This is a product that I really love. It is a serum which reduces pore visibility, as well as moisturising the skin. I apply it ten minutes before my moisturiser for added hydration. If you need an extra moisture boost, then I would highly recommend this product.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion +
I recently raved about this moisturiser as it is the only one I’ve come across which balances my dryness and oily patches. This really helps to balance the skin after all of the other products, leaving it soft and smooth.
Liz Earle Superskin Eye Cream
This is one of my favourite eye creams as it also decreases undereye darkness. If you have dark circles too I would recommend this as it really brightens them up and also helps to prevent the tired and sunken look.
I hope this gives you some inspiration for your own skincare routine, and if you have any suggestions of your own then please comment them below.
