3 Hacks for Perfect Hair

In a follow-up to my 3 Must-Have Products for Curly Hair article, I decided to make a list of my three best hacks to give everyone perfect hair.  These work for all hair types, colours and styles, so check out how you can get perfect hair every time!

Don’t wash it everyday

This might seem counterproductive, but it really isn’t.  Washing your hair everyday can actually strip your locks of their nature moisture and oils, leaving you with a dry and undernourished head of hair.  What you should do instead is wash it when it gets greasy.  I used to wash mine every couple of days, but noticed a great improvement when I swapped to every four days.  My hair actually stopped getting greasy so quickly and definitely looks healthier and happier.

Use quality shampoo and conditioner

It might seem like a cost saver to get a supermarket’s own-brand of shampoo and/or conditioner, but while it might line your pockets, it will totally strip your hair.  I’m not saying you have to buy expensive shampoo and conditioner, because costly doesn’t always mean quality.  I personally use the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Dream Curls shampoo and conditioner, which retail for £5.99 each at Boots (currently 2 for £8).  Another great drugstore hair-care brand is Aussie who have a wonderful plethora of products available.

Always use products after washing

This may be the most important hack, so if you’re only going to take one thing from this article, let it be this one.  It might be quicker to hop out of shower, dry your hair and run off to school or work, but this is not advisable.  It’s vital to use an oil or serum (preferably one that protects against heat) after washing, but before drying.  I would recommend any kind of argan oil or heat serum, even a combination of the two, for perfect hair.

I hope these hacks help you guys!  If you have any hacks of your own, don’t hesitate to leave a comment.
