Since we are in the midst of summer, and the holidays are coming up soon, I thought it would be a good idea to compile the five beauty products I think are essential for summertime. It is a season which brings warm weather and long days, but those things can wreak havoc on your skin and makeup. Here are five products that will be your best friends in summer 2017.
Batiste 2 in 1 Invisible Dry Shampoo and Conditioner (£4.49)
The summer heat can sometimes make our hair a little greasier than we’d like to let on, but this dry shampoo is the perfect solution. It instantly refreshes your hair and leaves it with a wonderful scent (I personally use the Vanilla and Passionflower variety). A bonus of this particular brand is that it also conditions the hair, so it doesn’t end up looking brittle or dry. This is a cheap little remedy for greasy hair when you’re in a rush.
John Freida Frizz Ease Original 6 Effects Serum (£3.99)
I have already spoken about this product before (see my review here), but it is the perfect summer product. As well as making our hair go greasier quicker, the summer heat can also dry it out leading to frizz. A couple of pumps on soaking wet hair perfectly combats this, leaving you with smooth and sleek hair. However, I would advise using it with a conditioning product to keep your hair nourished.
Thank You Farmer Sun Project Water Sun Cream SPF50+ (£24)
It might seem that sun burn is all but inevitable in the summer months, but not if you use the right protection. I picked up this Korean sun cream last month for when I jetted off to Barcelona. Bearing in mind that I’m a redhead with porcelain skin, I was expecting to be fried alive. However, thanks to this I did not get burnt once. It is super light so doesn’t run the risk of breaking out your skin, which is an instant bonus. It may seem pricey, but it is a sure fire way not to go crispy this summer.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade (£15)
Keeping your makeup on in summer can be a chore with all the sweat, but this brow product will ensure that they stay on all day long. The Dipbrow Pomade is completely waterproof and can only be removed using an oil-based makeup remover, meaning it is pretty much foolproof. It also comes in eleven shades, so there is definitely a shade for everyone out there. Less is more with this product, unless you want to look like you drew on your brows with a Sharpie.
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Sculpt Contour Palette (£9.99)
If the sun isn’t out where you are it can be hard to get a tan, but this contour product makes it a lot easier for your face to look bronzed. The palette has two different cream shades within it, a pale highlight colour and a contour shade. While I am not a big fan of the light shade, the contour colour more than makes up for it. Just apply it to the natural contours of your face then blend. It leaves a subtle bronze glow behind, giving you a sculpted face.
