K-Beauty Week: Holika Holika Pig Nose

With K-Beauty being a big trend at the moment, I decided to pick up a few products and do a themed week.  Today I will be reviewing the Holika Holika Pig Nose Clear Blackhead 3-Step Kit, available for £3.50 on Beauty Bay.  I enlisted the help of my boyfriend, Simon, with this one.  Before using the product I didn’t have many blackheads, but Simon found his to be problematic.

The Holika Holika Pig Nose kit is comprised of three steps, a nose patch for each step.  The first step was a basically like a standard sheet mask for the nose.  It was a fabric patch which was soaked in serum which aimed to raise the blackheads to the surface.  Simon and I agreed that it smelled like lemonade and it made our noses tingle.  It was advised that we leave this patch on for 15-20 minutes, so we left it on for twenty.

Patch two was fabric on one side, but sticky and pink on the other.  We put this on our noses adhesive (pink side) down and were advised to leave this for 10-15 minutes, we kept it on for almost fifteen.  This strip wasn’t as pleasant as the first “lemonade” strip, as when we came to remove it we found that it was stuck hard to our noses.  With the aim ripping out the blackheads, this strip was a little painful to remove and made our eyes water.  However, it did remove some from both our noses, so it wasn’t without merit.

The final strip was much like the first as it was soaked in serum (and smelt like lemonade), but it was plastic rather than fabric.  It was advised to leave this on for 10-15 minutes and we left it on for about ten.  This was a great strip as it soothed our noses after the pain of the second patch.  It was really moisturising after the sting of step two.  We let this soak in and found that our noses felt hydrated and thoroughly cleansed.

Overall the Holika Holika Pig Nose strips was successful, although they didn’t completely remove blackheads from around my nostrils as I found it difficult to stick the patch down in these areas.  However, after to waiting a few days I have found that my nose now looks much cleaner and healthier thanks to this kit.  At £3.50 you can’t really go wrong with this kit, Emma approved!

Come back on Thursday for a post about the 10 step Korean skincare regime!
